PFN New EXCO

On Monday the 10th day of April, a new executive was inaugurated in Lagos, the commercial capital of Nigeria.

About three weeks before the formal inauguration, the Vice President, South West, Bishop Wale Oke had made several trips to Lagos making consultation, seeking the face of the Lord and praying for a hitch free appointment and election of officers as the case may require. The appointments and elections were done and at the end, the leaders emerged. The vice President was full of thanks to God for making the appointment and election hitch free.

The inauguration date was fixed and preparations began. The inauguration coincided with an Islamic public holiday and was an advantage for many to attend the history making event. The roads were free and the people really turned out in large numbers at Guiding Light Assembly, Park View, Ikoyi venue of the inauguration. Journalists from different media houses had gathered at the venue.

The National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejator was there to perform the inauguration. The PFN president told the ministers that PFN is Lagos and Lagos is PFN. He told the people that the PFN was birthed in Lagos by the founding fathers. 'Whatever starts in Lagos gets everywhere in the nation' and the wind of change has started blowing from Lagos which will spread to all other parts of the country.

Before the emergence of the new executives and the subsequent inauguration, there had been so many challenges in the Fellowship; challenges that had put a great question mark on the leadership ability and integrity of ministers in the Pentecostal movement. At the peak of the numerous challenges that have rocked the Fellowship in the last few years, a caretaker committee headed by Rev. Wale Adefarasin was chosen to identify the root cause of the lingering problems. The grace of the Lord was very-obvious on this man of God that he was able, in the one year given him to resolve many outstanding problems within the rank and file of the Fellowship in the state. At the end of the one year, Rev. Adefarasin has left no one in doubt about his God-given ability to lead the PFN and take her to the next level.

The appointment certainly did not come on the platter of gold, but the Lord brought his servant to lead the Fellowship to restore confidence, integrity, sanity and more importantly bring spiritual reformation upon which a sound political and socioeconomic development may stand. One of the greatest battles the man of God is set to fight is poverty, a tool the devil has been using to derail scores of ministers. Many have in this process, lost their credibility and consequently their ministries. The situation has become so bad that the Pentecostals no longer command the respect with which she was famed for. If the fight against poverty (mentally and physically) is won, Satan would no longer use that weapon to cause division in the Body any longer.

The ministers will become focused and their ministries will fulfill God's purpose. At the inauguration, the national President, Pastor Ayo Oritsei'afor told the full house of ministers present that things have changed in the PFN. He declared, 'God is taking the PFN to the next level where the Fellowship will offer true leadership. He told the pastors not to expect any change in the political leadership until a change had occurred in the church. The deputy governor of the State, Mr. Olufemi Pedro and his wife, Justice Olajumoke Pedro were present at the inauguration.

The Deputy Governor expressed his joy at the program as he thanked God for the caliber of men that the Lord has chosen to steer the ship of the Pentecostals in the State. He advised the church leaders not to shun politics, but support and participate in it. He told the people that the destiny of the nation is in the hands of godly men and women. On behalf of the State government, Mr. Pedro promised to provide a landed property to build the State secretariat of the PFN.
