Now is the time!
Author: Bishop Abraham Olaleye  Date: 30 Aug 2006

Praise be to the Lord God of heaven who is answering the secret prayers of the saints all over the land.

There has never been a time in this nation when great awareness about the' need to pray has been so intense than now. Men and women in different places have been praying that God will reclaim His church and by extension, the nation. These revival intercessors have been praying that Righteousness, Holiness and the Fear of God will take root in the land beginning from the church. When we go back to the Bible, we would see that every revolution in history which brought about positive and lasting changes in the society has always started with God's people. By this revolution, I am not talking of placard-carrying and violent revolt against Government rather, I am talking about revolution that was carried out by men and women of prayer; people with understanding that the battle for the nations are fought and won first in the realm of the spirit and not in the realm of the physical.

Men and women of prayer understand that the weapons of fighting are not and can not be carnal. I am talking, about people that have changed the course of events, removed ungodly leaders on their knees. Who are these men and women that have changed the course of history? They are people with a passion driven vision to see God's Kingdom, established on earth through the instrumentality of righteousness, holiness and the fear of God. Righteousness, the Bible says, exalts a nation while sin is a reproach to any people.

The power of the church is not inherent in our sweet modern day theological ideas, but lies in the power that comes through a raw righteous and holy indignation against iniquity. Now is the time for the Church to arise in her full strength and confront the evils that are committed daily in the land. Now is the time for the leaders of the church (Apostles and Prophets) to lift up their voices like a trumpet and make the iniquities of a religious people known to her. Now is the time for the church in Nigeria to clean up the mess in the sanctuary that is already invoking the wrath of God.

God Has, like in the time of Daniel given orders to those that bear rule over the land to move out with their weapon of war and begin to strike, not only the wicked, but those who see the evils and do not cry and against them. More shocking to me was the fact that God told the destroyers to begin in His sanctuary. Apostle Paul corroborated the same fact when in his epistle; he told the church that judgment will start in the house of God. (I Peter 4:17)

Jesus taught his disciples to pray 'thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven' (Matt. 6: 10). False prophets will continue to arise and lead many including the elect astray as predicted by Jesus. In the light of this end-time increase in false religion and prophets, Jesus told his disciples that the gospel of the kingdom will be preached and the end will come. By this statement, Jesus has made it clear that only the gospel of the Kingdom will stand out and extinguish the flame of deception being fanned in the nations of the world.

The Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers must now blow the trumpet in Zion and sound an alarm on his holy mountain. They must lift up their voices and tell the Lord 'give not your inheritance to reproach' we must fall flat on our faces and repent of the iniquities in the land. If this is done in the spirit of 2 Chronicles 7:I4, the Lord will surely respond from heaven and send the former and latter rain. Now is the time!
